COC Week 2

Here are my outfits for Closet Overhaul Challenge, Wk 2:

Monday, Sept 13th
Hmm.. I don't like how this top photographed. There's a lot of ruching around the mid-section which just accentuates (rather than disguise) my rolls. Will have to keep this in mind. I got both the top and pants at JCP, the top is by a.n.a, beaded in a sort of abstract animal stripe and has flutter sleeves. I love the olive green. The pants are pretty basic gray pants by Worthington. You can't see the shoes, but it was a pair of black peep-toe pumps with gold studs.

Tuesday, Sept. 14th
(Ignoring the fact that my collar is jacked up and the hubs didn't tell me) This is one of my favorite jackets that I wear a lot. It's a short sleeve double breasted jacket in a sort of military style. I usually wear it buttoned up. This is Worthington from... you guessed it... JCP. The slub cowl-neck top underneath is from H&M and the pants are from NY&Co. eons ago. The pants are pinstripe with a silver metallic stripe in them.

Wednesday, Sept. 15th

I got this button-up top at The Limited. I love how it fits and wish they still carried it in other colors, but I can't find it any more. :( The white skirt (gasp! White after Labor Day? Yes, peeps) is from Target and the FABULOUS snakeskin strappy shoes are a recent purchase from justfab.com. I'm going to review this site in a future entry. I just wish you could see the shoes better in this shot!

Thursday, Sept. 16th

Finally busted out some flats... 3 days in a row of heels and my feet were ready to give out on me! Shoes are from Target, top is from Banana Republic, capris are from White House Black Market. Necklace I've had forever and bracelets (stack of silver bangles) are Decree (JCP).

Friday, Sept. 17th
TGIF! I work in a pretty business casual environment, so if you wear too dressy of an outfit (like something resembling a suit), people think you are interviewing for a job. :) I have tons of suits from my previous job, which required a suit every day.  So, I decided to wear this blazer with jeans to keep it more casual. The jacket is from Deb (I think), and I bought it in college to interview in. It ties in the front with a pink ribbon, rather than buttoning. I really like the fit and fabric of this jacket- very comfortable! The graphic tee underneath the jacket is from Old Navy, and the jeans are Calvin Klein. My floral flats from H&M make me feel so dainty!

  2. I personally like the Monday top; I think the fit and color are very flattering on you. Tuesday and Wednesday are both favorites (yeah white after LD!). You have a great eye for layering! Yes, do you have anything on the get-rid-of list yet?

  3. I don't have anything I want to get rid of yet. I think I'm going through all my favorites right now so as I get toward the end of the project, I'll probably find more things I don't want to wear. :)

  5. I think Tuesday and Wednesday are cute. I think Monday could be remedied by a jacket (you seem to have a lot of those). I think everything seems to fit and shape you nicely until you get to the spotted top and then it may just be the way your a standing but it adds pounds to your frame-like its a differnt person or a different year even.

  6. the spotted top isn't supposed to be fitted... it's a boxy shaped top, so that's probably the reason... but actually when I wear it and even when I look at this picture, i don't think I look that big. I think the line of the dots actually slims me, but maybe I'm just delusional.
